It’s Friday the 13th, and in addition to plenty of spooky-themed articles, you may have seen Sonic Superstars reviews popping up on game servers all over the web. And if you’ve seen them, you might have come to Nintendo Life looking for our verdict on the Switch version. And if you saw this article on the home page, you are Now I wonder where the hell it is…

Unfortunately, we have not yet received the Switch review code for Sonic Superstars. We they were they kindly supplied a pre-code for the PlayStation game so we could play it outside of our hands-on time at Summer Game Fest in June, but importantly we haven’t played the Switch version yet, so we can’t deliver our review alongside other outlets.

Generally speaking, our impressions of the PlayStation version were positive. Our friends at Push Square have their Sonic review live right now, so definitely check it out if you just need to go fast and see how the gameplay stacks up in Sonic’s 2D return. You’ll have to wait a little longer for our Switch-specific verdict, though, considering how the experience translates to Nintendo’s console.

We try to publish reviews in a timely manner, which is increasingly difficult at this busy time of year, as Switch codes often arrive on launch day, or in some cases not at all. We’re just as frustrated as you are, especially with the street-breached physical copies of Sonic Superstars that appeared in the wild earlier this week ahead of the game’s official launch next Tuesday, October 17th.

Rest assured that once we have access, we will go through the Switch version and have a review with you as soon as possible. In the meantime, thank you for your understanding.
